What is Delta 9 THC?

From Yellowstone to Canada, across the length and breadth of the state, let’s take a look at where you can buy outstanding Delta 9 gummies in Montana.

Are Delta 9 Gummies Legal in Montana?

Cannabis was a controlled substance under federal law until the 2018 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill legalized all THC products derived from hemp by drawing a legal distinction between hemp and marijuana.

This means hemp-derived Delta 9 products are federally legal in the majority of US states (with the exception of Idaho and Kansas). Here’s what you need to know about Delta 9 legality in the Treasure State.

Federal Legality of Delta 9 THC

The Farm Bill stipulates that Delta 9 products are legal in a federal level if they meet the following conditions:

  1. Delta 9 must be derived from hemp
  2. The THC concentration doesn’t exceed 0.3% by dry weight.

Although hemp is federally legal, each state individually determines the legality of hemp-derived products. Delta 8 gummies, for example, are federally legal, but Delta 8 THC is illegal in fourteen US states.

Delta 9 Legality in MT

Delta 9 derived from hemp is legal in Montana, which complies with the Farm Bill. THC products—such as THC gummies, concentrates, tinctures, edibles, and vapes—are totally legal both for recreational and medical use as long as they are derived from hemp and don’t exceed 0.3%

In 2020, Montana followed the Agricultural Act of 2018 (the Farm Bill) and chose to legalize CBD and hemp production. Hemp and its derivatives are no longer on the list of Controlled Substances Act, which means hemp-derived products are legal to produce and sell in the state of Montana.

As of 2022, adults 21 or older can also purchase marijuana and marijuana-derived products. Products containing marijuana that are sold in Montana must be produced within the state. Residents can purchase up to one ounce of marijuana per transaction (equivalent to some 800 milligrams of edibles or 8 grams of concentrate).

Our THC gummies are infused with hemp-derived Delta 9 that follows Farm Bill stipulations, making it 100% legal to ship to Montana. Order our superb edibles right here!

What is Delta 9 THC?

Δ-9-THC is the main compound found in the cannabis plant. When consumed in higher amounts (25 mg and more for some people), Delta 9 can have psychoactive effects. That’s why cannabis enthusiasts turn to microdosing, as low doses (10 mg or less) allow you to reap the benefits without the “high.”

Edibles are the safest and most reliable way to consume cannabis because they provide a longer-lasting experience. The effects of Delta 9 gummies typically kick in after 30 minutes, but often more like two hours.

Unlike smoking or vaping (carcinogens, anyone?) the effects of edibles can last for several hours, often as long as eight. On the plus side, our gummies taste like little drops of heaven, and ours contain only natural flavors.

If you’re struggling with anxiety, microdosing Delta 9 can provide sweet anxiety relief. Our Relax Plus gummies are probably the best way to achieve that. Their fresh watermelon flavor will bring back summer in any time of the year. When 5 mg of Delta 9 kicks in, it’s bye-bye to stress and anxiety.

Whether you are a newbie to the world of microdosing or a pro, low-dose Delta 9 can provide benefits associated with anxiety relief, tension release, reducing pain and inflammation, and so much more.

  1. Microdosing THC can regulate sleep.
  2. Microdosing THC can help with chronic pain, including neuropathic pain, arthritic pain, and cancer pain. Read more on how to get rid of migraines with low doses of cannabis.
  3. Low doses of Delta 9 might aid depression and alleviate depressive symptoms. People suffering from a wide range of mental disorders say that, in combination with other cannabinoids, Delta 9 THC can alleviate symptoms of stress, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, but also PTSD and stage fright.
  4. Delta 9 may treat prostate cancer.
  5. Delta 9 has been shown to fight multiple sclerosis, mainly due to its powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
  6. By reducing inflammation, Delta 9 may be an effective way of treating multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases caused by inflammation.
  7. A growing body of evidence suggests that low doses of Delta 9 promote neurogenesis (creation of new neurons in the brain) and slow the progression of dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Delta 9’s Effects on the Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a network of receptors and signals that regulates important bodily functions—pain perception, appetite, and sleep, among others. Delta 9 interacts with the ECS to make alterations in these functions and produce its therapeutic effects.

The ECS produces chemical signals called cannabinoids that interact with its CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system. Phytocannabinoids, which come from plants, act like our own cannabinoids and change the ECS in the same way.

By interacting with our CB1 and CB2 receptors, for example, low doses of THC and CBD can block pain signals, relax muscles, make us hungry, and improve the way our brains work.

THC and CBD seem to produce their best results when combined. Some of our Delta 9 products are the perfect way to create the entourage effect.

The Entourage Effect

The entourage effect is a synergistic interaction in which THC's beneficial effects are amplified when combined with CBD, and vice versa. CBD downregulates THC’s psychoactive properties and softens their impact on our body.

The best way to produce the entourage effect is with full spectrum CBD. The synergy of powerful full spectrum cannabis extracts allows you to reap the benefits of Delta 9, CBD, CBN, CBG, and other cannabinoids and terpenes. You can experience these beneficial blends when you shop our collection of full spectrum gummies.

To learn how the synergy of powerful extracts can boost your health, take a look at our full spectrum CBD guide.

Our Sleep Plus gummies contain the perfect blend of THC and CBD. This juicy mix of 25 mg of CBD and only 2 mg of Delta is enhanced by a touch of sleep-loving melatonin. There is no better way to get a good eight hours of sleep.

There are blends of cannabinoids that don’t contain any THC. Broad spectrum cannabis products allow users to experience the benefits of CBD and other cannabis compounds without ingesting Delta 9 THC.

To learn more, read up on our guide to the differences between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD.

Delta 9 Gummies FAQ

Does THC Increase Dopamine?

A recent study suggests that Delta-9 THC enhances the dopamine-release process in our brain, thus increasing the levels of the happy hormone. When dopamine is increased, you might feel the euphoric, psychoactive properties of THC that we usually call a "high."

A different study explores the way CBD influences dopamine levels in the brain. Dopamine is also linked to memory and awareness, but more importantly, to focus. When lacking dopamine, our attention suffers.

Can Delta 9 help dementia patients?

A medical case study published in the Journal of Medical Case Reports reviews the case of a 75-year-old patient who successfully managed his Alzheimer’s disease symptoms with microdosing cannabis.

The patient improved significantly after continued use of low doses of THC. Extracts used in the trial contained a ratio of 8:1 between CBD and THC, with the daily dosage never exceeding 1 mg total of THC.

The patient also reported improvements in mood and behavioral issues, most notably a reduction in mood swings and aggressiveness. Forty-two months after the initial treatment, the patient was still reporting no disease progression.

Is CBD legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill differentiated hemp from the legal definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act. This made CBD products derived from hemp with less than 0.3% THC federally legal.

However, CBD products containing more than 0.3% THC are still federally illegal—but legal under some state laws. Before deciding on a purchase, be sure to check your state laws.

How long do THC infused drinks last?

After consuming an infused cannabis drink, it typically takes a half hour to 2 hours for the consumer to begin feeling the effects of the beverage, with some fast-acting beverages causing onset within 15 to 30 minutes. The effects of THC drinks typically last 4 to 6 hours with some feeling effects up to 12 hours following consumption.

How is Delta 9 derived?

Legal Delta 9 is derived from hemp using a CO2 extraction process. This process extracts all hemp compounds, after which the extract is formulated to contain only Delta 9, only CBD, or both.

Another way to extract Delta 9 is isomerization. In this case, a hemp-derived CBD extract is converted into Delta-9 or other THC isomers (Delta 8, Delta 10, THC-O).

You can find more information about this in our article on the differences between Delta 8 and Delta 9.

What is stronger—Delta 8 or CBD?

CBD and Delta 8 produce different effects. CBD has stronger effects when it comes to anxiety relief and relaxation. Delta 8 is stronger in terms of producing a high, as CBD does not make you high, while Delta 8 THC can when taken in high doses.
